Removed Teacher IDs

On November 2, 2008, duplicate or unused Teacher IDs were deleted from the database. The method used to determine which IDs were removed was as follows:

When a duplicate was spotted (same teacher name, same address), we first checked to make sure both entries were for the same branch. Some teachers registered multiple times to enter students in different branch festivals. IDs such as these were not removed.

The duplicate Teacher IDs were then compared with the Students database. It was usually found that the students for that teacher were associated with only one of the IDs. At that point, the unused IDs were removed.

In a few instances, the same students appeared associated with more than one ID. The ID that was most used was determined to be the correct one, and the other was deleted along with the extra, duplicate student listings. In one instance, one duplicate Teacher ID had an obviously incorrect branch associated with it and its students (all duplicates), so the incorrect ID was removed.

Some Teacher IDs in the security subsystem had no teacher information associated with them. These were deleted from the security (login) subsystem.
