
A special announcement for teachers of Wind, String and Voice students.
ELIGIBILITY
The Southern California Junior Bach Festival is open to students of active,
provisional and student members of participating branches of MTAC who wish to
perform original works by J.S. Bach and who will not have reached their 19th
birthday by April 1st of the Festival year. Vocalists may not have reached
their 25th birthday.
STRING FESTIVAL
The String Festival format for 2009-2010 is as follows:
The fee for a soloist is $35.00. The fee for an ensemble is $45.00 (total). There is also a teacher fee of $5.00 (payable once to cover all of the teacher's entries for this year). Make checks payable to Joseph Ganahl and send them to:

WIND AND VOICE FESTIVAL
The Wind and Voice format for 2009-2010 is as follows:
The fee for a soloist is $30.00. The fee for a duo is $40.00 (total), and a trio is $50.00 (total). In addition, each participating teacher must pay a single $15 Teacher Fee; this covers all the teacher’s entries. The teacher should write one check to cover all students plus the Teacher Fee, made payable to Francine Ross-Pancost, and send it to:

REGIONAL FESTIVALS
The All-Branch String and Wind & Voice Festivals will also serve as the
Regional Festival. Wind, string and voice winners may participate in their
home branch regional if they wish.
COMPLETE WORKS AUDITION (CWA)
The CWA (Complete Works Audition) will be held on October 3, 2010. First place
winners from these auditions will be invited to perform on a special SCJBF Memorial
Awards Recital on October 16, 2010 at the First Congregational Church of Los
Angeles. (Dates subject to change.) To be eligible for the CWA, a student must
have been chosen by the judges at the All-Branch Regional Festival. All first,
second and third place students will receive medals. Please keep in mind that
if you wish for your students to compete in the Complete Works Audition, the
repertoire must be chosen from the Complete Works list. This list is available
on this web site.
CONCERTO AUDITION
Concerto auditions will be held in the Fall of 2010 to select a performer to
appear as soloist in the Los Angeles Bach Festival Concert in October 2010.
Students must have performed at a Regional Festival in 1995 - 2010, or have
been a winner in a previous Regional Festival in order to be eligible to audition.
